Moving WordPress to new hosting or a new domain

Slow or overpriced hosting is the most common reason to migrate. We move files, the database, SSL certificates and email, update addresses in the database and configure the new server for WordPress: PHP, caching, memory limits. The old site keeps running the whole time, and the DNS switch happens at an agreed moment, usually outside peak hours. For domain changes we add a full 301 redirect map so existing Google rankings carry over to the new address.

Migrating a store to WooCommerce from another platform

Every platform stores data differently, so a store migration starts with a data map. We move products with variants and images, categories, customers and order history, and we recreate or 301-redirect the URL structure. After migration the store passes a full test: an order, a payment, the confirmation email, shipping calculation. Only then do we switch the traffic.

SEO in migration: where cut corners cost the most

Most visibility drops after a migration aren't a Google penalty, just lost addresses: old URLs return 404s and nothing points to the new ones. Before migrating we crawl the full URL list, build a 301 redirect map, check canonicals, sitemaps and structured data, and monitor indexing in Search Console after the switch. If the site earns traffic from Google, this step matters more than moving the files.

A migration is the best moment to tidy the site up: removing unused plugins, updating PHP, configuring caching and a CDN, enabling automated backups. A store that took 4 seconds to load on old hosting can go under 1.5 seconds after a well-planned move without touching a line of the theme. We'll also tell you honestly whether the hosting you picked can carry your traffic, before you sign up.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a WordPress migration cost?

Moving WordPress to new hosting starts around PLN 600 (~£150) net, a WooCommerce store from around PLN 1,000 (~£250), and migrating a store from another platform to WooCommerce from around PLN 3,500 (~£800). The exact cost depends on the site's size and integrations; you'll know it before deciding.

Will the site be down during the migration?

No. The old site runs normally until the DNS switch, which happens in an agreed window and usually takes minutes. Your customers won't notice the move.

Will I lose Google rankings after migrating?

With a properly executed migration, including a 301 redirect map and indexing checks, rankings hold; small fluctuations in the first weeks are normal. Drops come from neglected redirects, which is why we treat them as mandatory, not an add-on.

Will you migrate order history and customer accounts too?

Yes. When migrating to WooCommerce we move products with variants and images, categories, coupons, customer accounts and order history. The scope is agreed at the data-mapping stage.

Can you help choose the new hosting?

Yes, and independently: we don't sell hosting and take no commissions. Recommendations are based on your real traffic, site weight and WooCommerce requirements.

What if something breaks after the migration?

We monitor the site for the first days after the switch and fix anything migration-related within the engagement. We keep the old version's backup until everything is confirmed working.

How long does a migration take?

A standard hosting move: 1-3 working days. A domain change with a redirect map: 2-5 days. A store migration from another platform: 1-3 weeks depending on data volume and integrations.

I don't have access to my current hosting. What now?

More common than you'd think. We help recover access from the host or the previous developer, and in extreme cases rebuild the site from available backups.
